Comparison of Degassing Methods #3

By admin - 19th October 2012

How much energy that is inside the tank is dependent on several factors including the vapor headspace volume, product type, and pressure and temperature. In most instances, the greatest energy content in the tank still exists as liquid, trapped in the scale and sludge.

Comparison of Degassing Methods #2

By admin - 10th October 2012

The LEL and UEL do not have anything to do with air to fuel (A/F) ratio for a stoichiometric burn, so we really can’t comment on this statement. The correct A/F ratio for gasoline is typically around 15:1 by weight [or 16,529 PPMV (1.65%)]. The major difference between the open flame thermal oxidizer and the engine is that the engine is not limited by any combustion safety issues. In other words, the engine doesn't need to dilute the process stream if it is 16,529 PPMV (as gasoline vapor) or less.
